Sail from Delhi to Agra coming soon: Gadkari plans waterways to cut costs

Yes. The government is planning to start a water-route from the Capital to the Taj Mahal city, a measure that will bring down travelling costs by a huge margin.
“While travelling by road costs Rs 1.50 and rail transport Re 1, water transport costs as low as mere 20 paise and it also generates employment”, Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari said on Saturday.
After laying foundation stone of several road projects in Firozabad, Gadkari said the government is focussing on the developing water transport in a big way as it is the cheapest means of transportation.
Gadkari also said that next year when he comes here it will be through the water transport.
